Coffee lovers unite! Let’s create the ultimate coffee bar.

One way I’ve been saving money over the last couple of years is to recreate my favorite coffee drinks at home instead of splurging on pricier coffee shops. Today, I’ll be sharing my favorite tips and strategies to create a cozy brew station at home with coffee shop vibes.

This spot is often my first stop in the morning and I was excited to give it a little refresh using affordable items I ordered from Walmart with my Walmart+ membership.

I ordered everything needed using my Walmart + membership! If you’ve followed my posts for a while, you probably know that I’ve been a Walmart+ member for many years, and free delivery from stores ($35 order min, restrictions apply) is my favorite part! I love not needing to leave the house to grab what I need, which is extra nice when I’m in the middle of recipe creation or a DIY project.

Everything below is available for delivery, so you can shop from home, too!

Here’s a closer look at how to build the best home coffee bar!

1.) You’re going to want a decent espresso or coffee maker and coffee to brew at home.

Nespresso coffee machine on the counter

I switched from a Keurig machine to this Breville Nespresso maker about 3 or 4 years ago and it’s been my favorite ever since. The convenience of simply pressing one button for a perfectly strong yet smooth espresso style cup of coffee is unmatched!

This machine is so easy to use and the pods are recyclable too. It makes me look forward every morning to waking up and enjoying a cup! Highly recommend.

As far as coffee goes this will depend on what type of machine you opt for. For a machine like mine, you’ll need to buy Vertuo pods that are compatible with the Nespresso. My current favorite is the Starbucks Pike Place Roast, as it’s a good medium roast that is smooth and rich-tasting.

2.) Consider grabbing a tray to hold your coffee bar accessories & supplies!

Having all your coffee bar accessories and supplies located in one area is so handy for a good coffee station! I am super impressed with the quality of this BHG wood tray with black metal handles. It’s large, and holds all my coffee-related goodies like pods, syrups, creamers, and more. Plus, I love the stylish look of this tray!

If you are looking for more of a tiered tray, this BHG two-tiered wood tray looks like an awesome one to consider.

3.) Use mason jars to keep coffee supplies tidy and organized.

Mason jars are always great for organizing around the house including a coffee station! You can use them on a tray to store individual coffee creamers and coffee pods, like I did. Plus I have smaller sized 4 oz. mason jars to store sweetener and to hold my tall beverage spoons!

4. Coffee syrups are key for making coffee shop sweet flavored drinks.

My teenagers are obsessed with the sweeter coffee shop-style drinks. One way to keep them off of the food delivery apps and drive-thru 😅 is to keep a stock of coffee syrups for them to build their own drinks at home. I love that Torani syrups taste great and also have sugar-free versions available. These syrups are super easy to pour into coffee drinks and add flavors like vanilla, caramel, or hazelnut.

5.) Every good coffee bar needs a good milk frother!

Milk frothers create that nice foamy top like a coffee shop drink. I use a battery-operated hand frother every day to mix in coffee creamer and unflavored collagen powder to my coffee. It blends in powder effortlessly so there are no clumps at all. This inexpensive one is noticeably strong and creates a yummy foamy texture in coffee drinks. I highly recommend it!

beautiful brand mug tower

Coffee cups are an obvious must-have when building a coffee bar. I do have quite a large collection of mugs in my cabinet, but this stacking tower of coffee mugs with a holder is genius. Plus, this ceramic mug set is so beautiful displayed on the counter next to the coffee machine.

I hope this inspires you to create one of your own at home!

My kitchen doesn’t have a ton of space, but this small area brings me so much joy. I love how everything is organized and ready to brew a perfect cup of coffee when I stumble out of bed each morning. It makes coffee time the best!
