A Walmart employee has shared their top-tip for saving money at the store.

Speaking to GoBankingRates, they said: “The Walmart app is a goldmine for savvy shoppers.”

The Walmart app offers customers personalized discounts and savings that are much easier to find than scouring the shelves for yellow stickers or clipping paper coupons.

“Activate push notifications there for clearance events, flash sales and exclusive mobile coupons,” the insider advised.

What’s more, the app sometimes offers exclusive deals that go beyond in-store savings.

“It’s your ticket to deals and discounts right in your pocket.”

The Walmart app is free to download on both iPhone and Android.

However, the app only has 120 million users a month, compared to the 438 million shoppers that visit the physical stores each month.

HOW TO USE THE APP

There are a few ways you can use the Walmart app to save money.

It allows you to easily search for Rollback items which are on sale.

Another popular feature is the Savings Spotlight, which highlights limited-time bargains.

You can also scan barcodes in-store to check the latest prices.

Sometimes, the prices on the stickers are outdated, and the item is even cheaper.

This is known among Walmart fans as “secret clearance.”

MORE WALMART SAVINGS

Another way to save at Walmart is with a Walmart+ membership.

Although the membership costs $12.95 a month, or $98 a year, it comes with a variety of benefits that could make it more than worth it.

Walmart+ members get their groceries delivered for free, subject to a $35 order minimum.

When it comes to household items, electronics, clothing, and furniture, even small orders ship for free.

Target recently unveiled its rival service to Walmart+.
